What this service is
Taste Profile is a personal, single-user tool. Its operator shares Instagram reels into an Instagram account they control, and the service organises those reels into a private, searchable personal knowledge base. It is not a public product and has no other users.
What is collected
- Reels you share. When someone shares a reel into the connected Instagram account, we receive a notification containing a link to that reel and the Instagram-scoped ID of the sender.
- Content of the shared reel. The video, its caption, its audio, and any text visible on screen. Audio is transcribed to text and on-screen text is extracted from still frames.
- Derived data. Topic labels, product names, place names, and a short summary generated from the above.
We do not collect your Instagram password, your follower list, your browsing history, your location, or any content you have not deliberately shared into the connected account.
How reel content is retrieved
Meta's notification contains a link but not the reel's caption, audio, or video. To obtain those, this service retrieves the reel directly from instagram.com using automated means. Meta's Terms of Use and Automated Data Collection Terms prohibit automated collection without express written permission, which this service does not have. This is stated plainly here rather than omitted.
Third parties
- Anthropic — reel frames and text are sent to Anthropic's API to generate labels and summaries.
- Supabase — stores the resulting records and frame images.
- Vercel — hosts the endpoint that receives notifications from Meta.
We do not sell data, share it for advertising, or provide it to data brokers. No analytics or tracking scripts run on this site.
Retention and deletion
Records are kept until deleted by the operator or on request. See data deletion for how to request removal.
If you sent a reel to this account
If you shared a reel into the connected account and want the resulting record removed, email zenjivz@gmail.com with the reel link. It will be deleted, along with any derived data and stored frames.
