A before-and-after comparison of glacier ice melting over months, citing climate studies to argue for stronger climate action.
9 out of 10 people worldwide want stronger climate action 🌍
Not my opinion. The largest representative study on this: 130,000 people in 125 countries, published in Nature Climate Change.
So to our governments and companies: it’s time to act.
Some more thoughts ⬇️
There are 4 months and 24 days between these two shots. Enough time for a huge part of the ice in this shot to melt. And yes, glaciers melt every summer, but most years they no longer rebuild in winter what they lose. They are slowly disappearing.
The glaciers are just the most visible sign. What really hits us is extreme weather: heat, droughts, fires, floods. Much of what we saw this year, just stronger.
So this isn’t only about protecting nature, it’s about protecting ourselves. And about money: the damage from climate change is expected to cost six times more than limiting warming would. Every euro invested now is simply a good investment.
Let’s stop arguing about who’s to blame. Let’s just act.
