Color grading breakdown sunset shot

A filmmaker shows their color grading process, converting S-log 3 to Rec.709 and enhancing a sunset sky.

Colour grade breakdown —> #colorgrading #cinematic #cinematography #filmmaking First, I use a Colour Space Transform node to convert my footage from S-log 3 to Rec.709. Next, I adjust the exposure and contrast to my liking. Then, I add saturation, adjust the white balance, and colour grade the image. I wanted to make the sky more colourful to accurately represent the sunset I saw, so I masked it out with a linear gradient and increased the overall saturation of the sky and added an orange hue. Finally, to polish off the image, I add some film emulation effects. The final look.
